Journey to Old Age
First
and foremost, I dedicate this site to my late aunt Mary Katherin
Jones. She was a strong black woman who instilled in me the
courage to challenge the world. The love and zest for life
she had will also always be a part of my heart. After moving
into a senior highrise, I thought her life was over. She continued
to drive and live her life to the fullest. My love for older
adults is what drives me. Aging well can be fun and an exciting
time in one's life. Over the next 50 years the aging population
will triple. There will be more people over 65 years of age
than younger people. We must begin to understand this process
and prepare ourselves for what to expect. Aging well is the
key. Maintain a physically active lifestyle means engaging
in walking, and weight training programs. That will allow you to
build strength and balance. Having a proper diet will allow
you to fight most illnesses or at least reverse them in a timely
manner. Maintaining social contacts is so important. Most important
will be your mental and spiritual outlooks. We must develop
a plan to grow old, just like we plan for everything else.
Contact Sandra Jones and allow her to share with you, her
insight and wisdom of the process.
